I am looking forward to welcoming you to the District 1260, Spring Expo 2020 at Rothamsted Conference Centre. The Conference team has prepared an Advance Information Pack, which I hope you will find useful and that answers most of your questions.
There is one item I would especially like to bring to your notice. Please bring along your 5ps (as many as you wish!) to Conference. With help from Sheerhatch Primary RotaKids and our Global Scholars, we will be marking out the distance along the Pakistan Afghanistan border which is more than 1,240 miles, thus raising money to support polio eradication. There is ample parking at Rothamstead, including several Disabled parking bays. Please look out for the signs and Stewards who will direct you as appropriate.
A draft outline of the Conference Programme is attached for your reference. Please note timings may change a bit on the day so please listen out for any announcements. As you are aware the District Council Meeting will be held first and all are welcome to attend this or to visit the showcase during this time. Only Expo delegates can remain for remainder of the day.
There is no specific dress code, come in your club shirts or in something casual.
Conference Lunch Arrangements
Please follow instructions to collect your lunch from Lewis Hall, if the hall is full rooms 102/Glynne &103/Warrington by the main auditorium are available for you to eat in. Those of you who registered with special dietary requirements should collect your lunch from the specified area.
If you need assistance at any point during the day, please speak to a Steward. Stewards can be identified by their large yellow badges. If you have volunteered to be a Steward over the Conference weekend, we thank you. John Belcher (Newport Pagnell) and Jeremy Wyman (Chesham) will be in touch with you to give further information about your role on the day.
There is no official photographer at Conference, however we do hope that there are lots of unofficial photographers! If you take photographs and post them to Social Media please use the hashtag #DC1260 so we can create an album of photos of this year’s conference.
